The dwarf cerith snail is another good algae eater for the aquarium. They are herbivores that love hair and turf algae and will effectively clean live rock more efficiently than regular snails. Just like the larger cerith, they are among the hardiest snails to keep, because if they fall they can easily right themselves before predation. These little snails are commonly found at the low tide zone and spend part of their time out of the water, so aquariums should have a rim or cover to keep them inside as they will often perch above the water line. Small sizes ranging from 1/4″ – 1/2″.
